Subject: fuel gauge inaccuracy / 9-3 diesel

I have problems with my fuel gauge indication for more than a year now. It shows more than fuel is in the tank. When the fuel reserve lamp goes on there should be 10 ltr left. In fact there are only appr. 4 ltr left. It happened first when the fuel needle was in the middle of the red range when the engine was dying. After switching the ignition off and on again the needle was fully down. Since I have still warranty I brougt it to the dealer. They tried the following: - several times eletronic adjustment - change of fuel level sensor unit and adjustment by filling up metered amount of fuel - change of the display unit (all gauges which include the fuel computer for the SID) Each time they have "repaired" it the problem initially seemed to be solved and came back after the first tank filling. The mechanic told me they have a 9-5 with a similar problem so I¥m obviously not the only one. Unfortunately SAAB does not offer a solution and I have no wiring diagram of the system. Does anyone have had the same problem or has an idea how to fix the fault? Dieter, GE
