I haven't been deliriously happy with my 2002 9-5 Aero wagon, nor the rate at which its resale value is going down, so I'm thinking of downshifting to a slightly older car. I wanted a hatchback all along, so I'm thinking 9-3. The dealer has a 2001 Viggen but I'm trying to get a *cheaper* car than my Aero. Looking at a 2000 base-model 9-3 with about 30k miles from the dealer. Doesn't have nearly the power that the Aero has (obviously) but the power it does have is much more usable IMHO. Hell, in 20k miles I've never once chirped the tires in my Aero, because you CAN'T -- there's just no low-end power until it slams you into the seat after it gets moving. But I burned a bit of rubber, twice, without even intending to, while test-driving this 9-3. If you were looking for your ideal car in this time/price range, what would you want? Late 9000 Aero, '98 - '02 9-3, ...? Why? Thanks! Gary
