They are mostly turbo diesels. The figures for the Jaguar X in this Sunday Times looks quite impressive for a 2.0: Cyl 4 Capacity 2.0 Liter Power 128 bhp/3800 rpm - yes 3800 rpm! Torque 243 lb ft/1800 - more than a VW 3.2 V6 0-60 9.5 sec - similar to a Saab 2.0 lpt Top 125 mph Econ 50.3 mpg But I always had some reservation about diesel noise levels, I don't trust the journos; I have to try myself some day. I did drive in a brand new VW Passat TD taxi recently, it was good, but not quite as quiet as my Saab LPT. But perhaps I've got used to the particular racket of my own car. Don't know if I'm ready for diesels just yet. The modern high pressure injection systems are complicated and could be very expensive to repair if they go wrong. Johannes http://sizefitter.com
