Turbo Diesel engines tend to combine the already large Diesel torque with the ability to perform even better thanks to all round improved performance of a turbo charged engine, providing even more torque. i was told by someone who owns one (a VW) that you tend to drive a turbo diesel more like a high performance NA, or turbo petrol engine using more revs low down to get the turbo spun up. Then you get both the fuel economy on a long run of both a turbo car (off boost cruising) and a diesel car, again legendary for long distance cruising, without the slow acceleration normally associated with diesel engined cars. If the money had been available, I would probably be driving a couple of year old Fabia TDi, or more likely an Octavia TDi (would like an vRS but they hold their price too much), instead of my Saab. But I'm glad I'm broke as my Saab makes me very happy. -- The poster formerly known as Skodapilot. http://www.bouncing-czechs.com
