Site News - 4/9 Saab Owners' Convention Day Pass Raffle | 3/26 M Car Covers (by State of Nine)

Subject: 1985 SAAB 900 sticking emergency brake

My '85 SAAB 900 front-wheel brake pads have recently begun sticking in the applied position when activated by the handbrake. The cables connecting the handbrake to the front wheels slide with complete freedom in their channels, but the coil springs on each front wheel that are supposed to return the braking levers moved by the handbrake are unable to overcome this stickiness when the handbrake is released, requiring that someone reach behind each wheel and pull each braking lever forward past the sticking point. Anyone know of a fix that doesn't require complete disassembly of the braking system on each front wheel? -- __________ To reach me by email, remove the antispam "x" from my address.
