Just to explain to "US-citizen" what RDS in Europe is: a possibility for the radio station to transmit additional encrypted digital info. Next to the name of the station (PI=program info) it informs about AF=alternate frequencies (best freq for a specific station for the area you are in), EON=enhanced other network (if some station transmits traffic advisory while you are on a non TA-station it changes the program), PTY=program type (news, pop, country................).The newest gimmic (since the end of the 90¥s) is RT=radio text. It¥ll give you any longer info, i.e. advertising (telefon no. to order musical cards) or news or or or. Dieter > > Isn't it just called RDBS in the states? > > -- > take off "ospam" to mail me > >
