I have an emap. The cupholder is ideally suited for the emap. However, I wanted something with a larger display and a different form factor, thinking that it would be more gracefully wired into the car power system. This is true, it was more easily wired in. However, figuring out a graceful place to install it is one different matter. The Emap will be available for my wife's car, should she ever need it, or perhaps I'll bring it along for walking. > >> Saab has made such economical use of the dashboard space that I have a >> few difficulties with the location. > >Agreed. Can you exploit the cupholder as a platform for it or >something? Instead of "in" like a vertical GPS, "on" it with some >sort of platform or ??? I have one possibility, and that's to investigate the mobile phone holder cradle that Saab sells for the console. I want to put the phone in there, and am already somewhat committed to making my own phone cradle (motorola T720, phone kit is only 139.00.....) Getting something from the Saab dealer seems to be possibly nicer. We'll see what that console mount does for me, but I'm still open to suggestions. That's tuesday, though... I need to take the car back to the dealer for a few minor things.... 1) the cup holder rattles (felt strips, anyone?) 2) the glove compartment door rattles a little (more felt strips....) 3) the lugnuts on the wheels are corroded.... (replace under warranty....) 4) someone put a nameplate on my car.... It wasn't my name, so I concluded that they had put it on by mistake.... The dealer will clean off a bit of adhesive that is left.... They seem not to want to pay me for the advertising space.... I'm not too unreasonable, say, $100.00/month and I'll even tell people what a good job they've done.... Harvey > >Dave Hinz >
