Long, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away . . . Well, when the Classic 900s were available there were noisy brake pads that lasted 50,000 miles - and the owners complained about the noise. Saab listened and came out with pad that did not make any noise - they also did not last beyond 12,000 miles. Saab had a 15,000 mile warranty on these pads and was giving away more pads than they sold. Eventually Saab stopped the warranty and Saab 900 owners switched to after market pads - that were noisier but lasted 40,000 miles. The moral is - be careful what you ask for, you just might get it. . .
