I had a neighbour who was a Jag nut, so I've had a play around with the XJ6 and XJS. The XJ6 is easy to work on, nothing really scary. Standards front engine/rear drive setup makes for a nice conventional machine. The XJS OTOH is a beautiful drive, but was made by Satan as one of those many tests he likes to devise. One weekend to change the rear pads. They are not a very rare car here.. I would normally say they don't rust, but given your situation, I'd say check it out for rust ;-) > 130,000km - shocks definitely soft - idles rough, oil gauge is dead - but > it's all straight and appears to have been very well looked after before a > long storage.. Apart from all the usual stuff on a 20 year ols car (brakes/shocks etc), the auto tranny is the only thing that I know of that can give trouble. Is it auto or manual? If the former, test thoroughly before you buy. If you like how it drives, and it's not rusty, I'd say go for it. Keep us posted. -- Grunff
