This visibility issue is not limited to the NG 900 or 9-3. It due to the "stylish" high back ends and resulting smaller rear window. The Classic Saab hatchbacks have that huge rear window, "blamed" for being so big it allows too much sun into the car - but it is great for visibility. Another car with great rear visibility are the older Volvo wagon series - the 245 and 740 wagons.
