My brother has the 98 saab 900. He has had some battery and alternator problems. The 900 did NOT perform as well in car crash ratings as the 9-3. My advice is to go with the 9-3...it may be more money, but it has 1,000 technical improvements and stronger safety ratings(side impact airbags.) I own a 2002 9-3...the last of the model year...and I enjoy my car over my brothers 10 fold! P.S. It has better seats then the 900, and the exterior looks better!
