I own a 1986 8v 900 Classic She cost me £300 in 2003, and another £500 so far. Cheap motoring or what! Unfortunately the dreaded iron worm has destroyed the mounting nipple/pin/thing for the Left hand tailgate gas lift, on the body work. My tailgate now closes like madam guilotine! Anyone else had this problem? I can email pictures if you're really interested. I'm no mechanic but I had considered a heavy self tapping screw, my usual mechanic, Aeromotive Saab of Birstal in west yorkshire has not seen this before and suggests welding another nipple/pin/thing. As an aside how hard is relining the roof? I can get the materials for about £60, but dont want to waste the money if it's a really hard job. Cheers Al
