Well when you buy a car through ebay the idea is you go test drive it first, unless it's a particularly good deal then who cares, just assume it to be a project. My dad bought one a few years ago, he went and drove it and thought it was ok aside from some work it needed, bid and won it for around $800 and it's been a good car.
