Well, I may be too late to save your marriage... I would not do it, since the top is very heavy and hard to maneuver. But, the general idea is the same to go up or down. Remove the panel in the trunk on the right side as you face the car. You will see a red lever. Pull the lever. This should allow the drive motor to pop free and release the mechanism. You should be able to move it after that. Note that this is "theory", I've never done it myself.
