I did not like the sluggish steering and handling. FInd a Maxima SE. The SE version has a firmer suspension and handles rather well at normal driving speeds. Standard tranny Maxima's are actually somewhat unusual - automatics are much more common. I'd s suggest something around a 1998 if that's in your price range.
