Hi, my '91 900S just began making a cold-start squealing sound when I release the clutch after shifting into first gear. It is (currently) fairly brief and only seems to happen when the engine is cold (or at least has not been run in awhile). This morning it squealed/screetched for a few seconds after shifting into first. Depressing the clutch made the screetching stop, but it resumed when the clutch was released again. Again this evening coming home from work the same thing happened, but for longer. I shifted into second and it stopped, not sure if it was a coincidence or not. Is this a bearing issue? From searching the newsgroups that usually seems to be described as a "whirring" noise. Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst :) Hans
