Just had to replace my heater control "wire resistor module". Classic problem - fan only worked on high. The module ( easier to reach than anticipated) had a bad "thermal fuse"widget. Couldnt find a fuse rating on it only a temp rating of 109 Celsius. Wire resistors were good as new. Anyway, I checked the fan fuse in the "glove box" fuse panel and that puppy is 30 amps. I I measured the fan draw on all positions and on position 1 it was .3 Amps #2 was .6 #3 was 1 and #4 it was 2 amps. The motor runs smooth and quiet so I am not sure why the thermal link went. Now I am puzzles as to why the main fuse is 30 Amps. There is a small suge to 2.6 amps on startup but nothing to justify 30 amps. The harness will smoke before that will blow. Why not 10-15 Amps or is something else tied to the fan circuit?? Nice to have heater control again. Winter is just around the corner!!
