God only knows exactly what the algorithm is it uses to adjust the various controls, but one thing that seems to have quite a strong influence is the sunlight sensor on the top of the dash. If it sees strong sunlight beaming into the car, it assumes the people inside are being directly heated by the sun, so it turns down the air temp and maybe turns on the face vents etc. You could try getting it to do a self calibration - press the "auto" and "off" buttons both at the same time. It can be adjusted by a Saab dealer if you still don't like the way it's working. Cheers, Colin.
