1996 saab 9000 cd ... boot (trunk) light stopped working ... assumed it was failed bulb ... but when I took it apart it had completely corroded terminal white wire attached to... got a spare second-hand light unit... but now can't work out what the 3 positions on the switch are supposed to do... looking from front with switch on left hand side (seems unit can be mounted either way)... it seem switch up is off, down is on... but in the middle position it seems unsure... there is a metal contact on the switch which is a bit loose and is intermittent - with boot open its on if it makes contact with the "white wire terminal" else off .... which position should switch be in for light to be on only when boot is open? I would have though mid position... but this doesn't reliably work on my switch... looking at the switch contact itself, I can't figure out how it knows when the boot is open? is there a contact switch elsewhere... and I should switch the light unit to the bottom "on" position... and maybe the light will be switch off by another contact switch?? Hope this makes sense ... I've lost the owners handbook ... and with it being winter I'd like this switch to work ... but don't want a flat battery! Andrew
