From memory... Remove the door handle surround; remove the screws holding the door inner shell to the door. Set these aside. The motor has a spur gear on it which drives the window up and down. The easiest thing to check, and do this before you buy anything, is if it's just gummed up. At that age, it's not unreasonable to think that the substance-formerly-known-as-grease on the clock spring, and in the motor assembly, have formed into a rock-like substance. Degrease the spring with your favorite solvent, and re-apply something preferably of the synthetic variety. Then, while you have the motor off of the door (just hanging inside is fine), see if the motor runs. If the gear turns a bit, or sluggishly, then it's gummed up inside.
