I've used both baby seats and second-stage child seats by Maxi-Cosi in the back of my 2000 9-3, and had the baby seat at least both in the centre and the outside. It's possible that Maxi-Cosi products vary in the amount of belt they need, and just possible that a 2002 Dutch model has shorter belts than a 2000 British model, but unlikely enough on both counts to be worth checking out. Have you checked with Maxi-Cosi and also with Saab centrally whether the belt is supposed to fit? Martin
