This is a *really* bad thing to do with a DI cassette. It's very likely to fail very quickly if it doesn't have *all* the plugs in and grounded. Also, it needs to be the right way up whilst powered up. It might have been knackered before, but it's much more likely to be now, I'm afraid. Whatever you do, don't "test" the new one. Just fit it.
