A truism in a free market is that a supplier can only offer a single price for his/her goods/services. This inherent marketplace weakness, forces the supplier to charge somewhere in the middle or somewhat above the midpoint of what they perceive to be the halfway point of consumers' willingness to pay X price (thereby maximising profit). So approximately half of consumers will be unhappy with the price offered (so some will grudgingly pay anyway whilst others will refuse) whilst the other half would generally have been willing to pay above the offered price for the good/service (and consequently are generally pleased with/accepting of the price). I think Shane, your use of the term "rip-off" is a clear indicator that you fall into the former category, believing the offered price is too high. It's as simple as that. - tex
