But no, I don't think your problem is related to the turbo specifically, unless you're getting grindy or gravelly noises from it. More likely are the other suggestions you've seen here. One of those may be _making_ the turbo underperform, but the turbo itself has obvious and dramatic failure modes, rather than the subtle problems you're describing. Dave Hinz
