I installed the MBC because it was $25, instead of a new BPC that was $300. So being a poor college student, I decided if I run the MBC at near stock levels then it should be fine... I should also note that I ran the car for a week with a good known BPC, and it was getting full boost, so it was just a faulty BPC and nothing else causing the base boost condition. > >> I babied her the 25 or 30 miles to my college and all along the way I >> was VERY nervous, almost like I could feel her pain. > > > Ouch. Am I hurting anything further if I drive the turbo with bad bearings? I'd imagine at some point the turbo will just cease up... if I stop driving the car when that happens (loss of boost), then am I going to be doing more damage than if I have the turbo rebuilt now? Also, what signs will I get if I have done damage to the top end of the motor? All the noises that the engine had been making with the lack of oil have now stopped. I drove it a few miles to the store and back just a few minutes ago (didn't dare drive it like 50 miles round trip to work and back) and there's nothing out of the ordinary, even the turbo has quited down and all I hear now is the slight sound of the turbo spooling up, which I heard pre-incident. I appreciate the help guys... I'm just at loss of what to do right now. Its my only form of transport right now and I have little or no money to put into the Saab. -- -Chris 1994 Saab 9000CSE Turbo 2001 Saab 9-3SE (parent's) 1994 Saab 900SE V6 (*RIP*) 1987 Saab 9000S (*RIP*)
