Need some help with an issue with our 96 9000 CSE. The car has started to make a grinding or growling type noise primarily when coming to a stop. Thought at first it was the brakes, cause it is like a brake scrub when the car is almost stopped or straining at a stop, but this is a little louder, and now seems to be happening even when car is totally stopped. Also hear it faintly when car is going down street at times. I think I've eliminated brakes and A/C and any CV joints or bearings, since it seems to continue to make the noise even with car stopped. This was not true at first, but it is now, which is what has be so baffled. I do not know if it is a Automatic trans pump or the trans it self or something with the ABS system/pump or some other vacum/pump type item. Any and all help is appreciated, as I can only cringe at what the Saab dealer will be charging and if what they say is wrong is really what the problem truely is. The car continues to run and drive on the local on highway roads just fine, shifts and down shifts fine and doesn't slip, so not sure if transmission issue or not. Sound and vibrations seem to be right in front of me driving, and NOT on passenger side, which is why I'm thinking transmission, but fluid is good and no other symptoms.......Any and all help is appreciated....Thanks.
