There are other upgrades out there ... Maptun spring to mind. Do be aware that in some circumstances, the ECU is wiped at the service, so that's a lot of money wasted if Speedparts or Maptun will not re-flash the ECU. The thing about ECU upgrades is that the lower specification cars, say the 170 BHP 2.3t 9000, are the self same cars as the higher specification, say the 210 BHP 2.3T 9000. There's your 40 BHP; it just needs the ECU from the higher specification car. I wonder what SAAB charge for the ECU? On the higher specification cars, I think the power gains are perfectly achievable. If there are existing engine problems, then the software will detect that and curtail the power accordingly. A clean bill of health from a reputable SAAB specialist prior to purchasing the upgrade will almost certainly guarantee the figures. Paul 1989 900 Turbo S http://saab.go.dyndns.org/
