There's plenty of evidence from Saab users that the stock NGK work best. I've seen some cars that would absolutely *eat*certain plugs. Champions would die in a half hour in a '68 alfa (we were kids, we didn't know better until we tried). No idea why they died, but I saw it happen repeatedly. Autolite's worked in the same engine without complaint. Interestingly, what you were supposed to use in this engine was a copper Bosch plug with 4 electrodes on the sides (sound familiar?). Unfortunately you could only get them from Alfa dealers and they were close to $50 in today's dollars. Bosch brought the same idea back with the platinum a few years ago and started selling it as something revolutionary :-)
