Subject: 9-3 Turbo

I have friend whose turbo is blown (diagnosed by main dealer - £800). Question is, how easy is it to replace? I have 25 years of mechanical experience, but local knowledge from a group like this is invaluable. I have no experience of this model, don't even know if the turbo's on the back or front of the engine! Most vital question: can it be done without a pit or a lift? All blow by blow accounts most welcome. Thanks, Tim.
