Subject: c900 inner driver size change?

OK, so I'm replacing the left CV/driveshaft on my '85 Saab 900. Got the old one out without too much swearing and no blood. New one won't go in; turns out the outer races of the 3 needle bearings are about 2mm too large, as compared with the one that came out. So. Obviously something changed. When? Any thoughts if they gave me the wrong part (newer) or if my car has the wrong tranny in, or something? At this point, to get back on the road, I'm thinking of keeping my old driveshaft and putting that into the new CV I got from them. Any hints on this? I can't see the snapring I thought would be there, checking manuals next. But I don't think I'll do anything until I get some sort of confirmation about that part changing? More to the point, if the part did change, I need to know when, so I can tell 'em I have whatever year car the one I need, is really for. Thanks, Dave Hinz
