Hope you and yours are well... Ended up at a friends place, his 72 Sonett, Sitting too long, exposed carb?, very little 'metal carriage' left, "Good plastic Body" for a funny car. Expect the worst for rust and you won't be disappointed. The shield and rear glass have no cracks, It seems all there, a complete drive train, although I haven't looked under it, Needs rims/tires/nuts to roll it. Not sure about keys. No paperwork, strictly AS IS for Parts Only, I Just don't want to see all those great parts get 'Chrushed', give it a good home, if only as a unique 53 year old lawn ornament, as a testament to another time and its unique over the top artistic automotive design way ahead of its time... Leave it to Saab... Bring a Trailer. After some research, I may have jumped the gun listing it on ebay first @ $475. Hard to figure its worth if any so auction seemed best, but now thinking this ad might interfere with my obligation to complete the auction, so I needed to set here a 'discouraging' price, especially for a lawn ornament. VIN: 97735000066 - this is the 66th made in 1972.

Color: Orange Trans: Manual Mileage: 90,000 Price: $6995
Tuned V4, with a MS Motor Sport intake, 2 Bl Weber 36, 123 retro distributor, New coils, compression is 200lbs on all cylinders. Brakes were changed with new calipers, yesterday. Runs an oil cooler. (the first clue when I found the car that it was worth the effort to restore.) Oil filter external, is under the passenger front fender. Tires are new. Headliner has been replaced by an upholstery shop. Shocks are new. Gas tank is an aluminum fuel cell. All the gas lines are now stainless steel. Radio is new with a Retro vintage faceplate. Wiring and fuses updated. Springs are lowered for better handling, but not too much. Trunk floor is new. Rockers are in good shape. Ignition was changed from a low mileage parts car that comes with the deal. Oil Pressure is 40lb. Running an Air fuel gauge around 12. 5-13. Clutch master is new. Needs a buyer that appreciates vintage sports car. Radiator cap, and thermostat new. Includes a Car Bag, for storage. Message my phone if more information needed.

Exceptional Sonett III. Restored by noted collector using Sonett experts Jack Lawrence and Ray Longhitano and starting with a super solid original car. Rebuilt engine with Holley fuel injection, electronic ignition, upgraded camshaft, larger valves. Rebuilt 4-speed, new suspension with Bilstein shocks and grade 8 hardware throughout. NOS brake rotors, MGB calipers, 4-bolt hubs, Jack Lawrence exhaust system, Ronal/Saab wheels. Beautiful, correct interior with extensive sound deadening, Retro-Sound stereo, rebuilt VDO gauges, and Personal-Saab steering wheel. Includes Saab 900 space-saver spare and full tool kit. 1971 Saab Sonett California Car. Mileage 65,910. Purchased in 2013 to combine with 1974 because of the rust. Super clean car, only rust could find is where battery was. Appears previous owner started engine work as some disassembly. 1974 Saab Sonett Ohio Car – rusted. Mileage 78,028. Custom made inner outer rocker panels, gas tank has been cleaned and sealed, re-cored radiator, brakes and lines replaced. 5 soccer ball rims. Car was running when parked and lot driven. Began disassembly in 2013 to restore. Both cars were put in dry storage in 2014 for restoration when I retired. Unfortunately, that is no going to happen. I have a little history on previous owners. Both cars have clean Ohio titles in my name. Look at all the pictures. I will not separate the cars – both cars one money. Cars roll easily and will need to be trailered. Call with any questions.
