1971 Saab Sonett California Car. Mileage 65,910. Purchased in 2013 to combine with 1974 because of the rust. Super clean car, only rust could find is where battery was. Appears previous owner started engine work as some disassembly. 1974 Saab Sonett Ohio Car – rusted. Mileage 78,028. Custom made inner outer rocker panels, gas tank has been cleaned and sealed, re-cored radiator, brakes and lines replaced. 5 soccer ball rims. Car was running when parked and lot driven. Began disassembly in 2013 to restore. Both cars were put in dry storage in 2014 for restoration when I retired. Unfortunately, that is no going to happen. I have a little history on previous owners. Both cars have clean Ohio titles in my name. Look at all the pictures. I will not separate the cars – both cars one money. Cars roll easily and will need to be trailered. Call with any questions.

Serial number 083, Ready to be driven to a new home. Parked in 1996 for broken piston rings and worn transmission. I purchased in 2022 to make a reliable, fully functional driver. The chassis and under carriage have survived well. Two wiper drag marks on the right, many abrasions in the windshield, but none of the glass is chipped nor cracked. The original color is Monaco Red. At least one re-paint. Many chips and stains. Interior replaced in the early 1990's. Carpeting is sun-faded. Vinyl is good. Headliner was replaced again 2023. Wood rim wheel compliments the dash. Donney Motors rebuilt Sonett II ported engine. All cylinders were bored to 71 mm plus 'loose fit' clearance, Wiseco/Donney pistons and rings, new bearings. The damaged head was replaced. Distributor advance works. Bud Clark renewed transmission. New bearings, synchronizers, shimming, lash adjustments. Sonett II 4.88:1 final drive. White Post Restorations rebuilt brake master. I installed new rear cylinders, Saab 96 brake cables shortened to 97 Sonett length, rebuilt front disk pistons, EBC disk pads, Koni dampers. Four 4 1/2 inch wide steel rims with Vredestein Sprint Classic 175/70-15 radials. Spare is a T125/80D15 tire on 4 inch. The oil injection monitor 'relay' output correctly operates the dash mounted warning lamp. A secondary monitor LED shows the relay's input. The Saab Bendix radio, all the gauges, and the clock work. The ignition switch and fuse panel has been modified for a separate 'accessory' position without powering the fuel pumps, coil, oil relay. A passenger's door courtesy lamp switch, Pertronix, 3 ohm coil with bypassed ballast resistor, Hella H4 headlamps with LED bulbs, EGT gauge, Bluetooth stereo player, audible reminder for lights left on with door open, coolant overflow bottle, extended freewheel lock rod, inertial locking belts. The driver's foot bin has been removed. The accelerator pedal has been relocated 1/4 inch further right. The high beam floor switch and relays are replaced by a later relay using the 'flash-to-pass' switch stalk for latched high beams. The next owner can choose to keep or revert these personalizations. A dynamometer pull in 2024 showed 53 wheel HP at 4,900, 63 lb*ft at 3,450. Accelerometer runs in 2025 show 0-60 in 10.19 sec., 1/4 mile in 17.67 at 79.5. Fuel economy averaged 28.7 mpg over the most recent 8,500 miles. Oil usage is almost 900 miles per 3 liter tank, or about 1.5% of the gasoline used. The odometer rolled over 100,000 miles during my ownership. The 5 digit odometer now shows 10,500+ miles. The replacement fuel level sender does not have the low fuel warning lamp contact. The gauge shows 1/4 tank when 5 (of 16) usable gallons remain. The clock runs slow and 'loses' about 1 minute per day. The instrument back light dimmer built into the headlight switch is broken. The dash lights presently have full intensity lighting. One of the two prior owners applied what looks to be silicone sealant at the upper edge of the rear window. There is no leakage so the sealant has been left alone. The car is being sold with a clean Mass title, one key for the exterior door handle locks, one each for ignition, trunk, fuel, reprint of a Sonett II owner's manual, original freewheel lock lever, driver's side foot well bin, original 1967 seat belts, point set, condenser, 1.5 ohm coil, 1967 headlight and high beam relays.
