About Me:

I started The Saab Network in 1988 while I was attending Dartmouth College. I've since moved to California and worked for ten years doing Technical Marketing for a few software firms (Excelan, Novell, and then as Director of Marketing for Jean-Louis Gassee (former President of Apple Computer) working on the BeOS). I quit marketing in favor of coding full time on my own for myself. It's way more fun! I married a life long Saaber; my girlfriend who drove a 1983 900T and who made me test drive a 1985 900 Sedan when I was looking for a VW Scirocco to replace my VW Rabbit and have never looked back. All of my Saabs have been incredibly reliable, great, fun, and beautiful cars.

The Before Story or How It All Started: In sixth grade, I sat in the Kiewit Computation Center until dawn playing Kingdom on the Dartmouth Time Sharing System mainframe. That same year I saw a 60 minutes episode on Atari and Silicon Valley (and later an episode on Ken Uston and Blackjack [which my father taught me how to play early on] hence my penchant for card counting). I knew I wanted to go back to Dartmouth and then on to the Silicon Valley. I got my degree in English there and spent ten years doing high-tech marketing. It was rewarding and exhausting. I taught myself to program each of the various technologies I worked with to the point that I was even gently criticised by one former boss for being too technical for a marketing person. Anyway, here I am.
