About Me: | I am a retired professional in Quality Assurance. I have 30 years experience working in Electronics Assembly, Aerospace, Metal Casting and Fabrication, Industrial Equipment, and Commercial Vehicles.
I have worked on cars as a hobby since I rebuilt my first car (a VW bus) at age 14. Since then I have owned, and worked on, a wide range of cars including an Alfa Romeo Spider, Jaguar XKE, Triumph Spitfire and GT6, and of course Saabs.
I met my first Saab (a friend's 1974 Saab 99) while living in Colorado and found the car a wonderful and practical alternative to my Jeep CJ7. I purchased my first Saab as a new car in 1984. I still find Saabs wonderful and practical vehicles, even if getting parts is a getting a little harder.
I must admit that while I still get my hands dirty on occasion, I have begun to leave the tougher repair jobs to the professional mechanics; age (and income) has its perks.
