October 2000 Sales up 40 Percent

SAAB'S OCTOBER 2000 SALES UP 40 PERCENT

NORCROSS, Ga. - Saab Cars USA, Inc., the U.S. importer and distributor of Saab 9-3 and 9-5 automobiles, announced sales of 3,681 cars during October 2000. This is a 40 percent increase over October 1999 (2,627 cars). Year-to-date, Saab is keeping up with the pace set in 1999. The year-to-date total sales are at 32,595, which is down 4.7 percent from the same period in 1 999 (34,1 21). Saab believes it will match last year's sales figureÑwhich was up 28.6 percent over 1998.

Sales of the Saab 9-5 Sedan and Wagon remain extremely strong with a total of 2,428 cars sold during October. This compares to 1,244 9-5 models sold in October 1999. Of this total, 1,798 were 9-5 Sedans, which is an increase of 93 percent compared to October 1999. Saab also retailed 630 9-5 Wagons in OctoberÑa 107 percent increase over October 1999. Saab sold 1,253 9-3 models in October.

Saab's 2001 models went on sale last month. For the 2001 model year, Saab introduces some exciting new features to its existing line of vehicles. Saab promotes its tradition of innovation, technology and real-life safety by becoming the first European brand to introduce advanced, voice-activated on-board communication services standard in all of its U.S. models. This systemÑthe latest generation OnStarÑuses wireless technology and state-of-the-art voice recognition and text-to-speech technology to provide hands-free security, information and concierge services. Saab will also continue to offer its No Charge Scheduled Maintenance Program. This covers all 9-5, 9-3 SE, and 9-3 Viggen models.
