-Saab finishes first quarter 16 percent ahead of 2000
-9-3 sales up 55 percent over March 2000
-9-5 sales up 22 percent over March 2000
NORCROSS, Ga. - Saab Cars USA, Inc., the U.S. importer and distributor of Saab 9-3 and 9-5 automobiles, announced sales of 3,177 cars during March 2001Ņa 41 percent increase over March 2000 (2,255 cars).
Saab sold 1,990 Saab 9-3 models, a 55 percent increase over last March (1,281). Included in this total are sales of the 9-3 Convertible, which outpaced last year by 29 percent (851 vs.661).
In addition, Saab's 9-5 model had another strong month with sales up 22 percent over last March. Saab sold 845 9-5 Sedans (vs. 684 last year) and 342 9-5 Wagons (vs. 288 last year).
"We're extremely pleased with our strong start to the year," said Richard O'Kelley, Saab Cars USA's Vice President of Sales. "In a first quarter seemingly doomed with uncertainty, our organization responded with excellent results."
