NORCROSS, Ga. - J.M.K. Saab Inc., 391 Route 22 East, Springfield, New Jersey, was the top-selling Saab dealership in the United States during 1997, according to John Orth, vice president, sales and marketing for Saab Cars USA, Inc., importer and distributor of the Swedish-built Saab automobiles. The New Jersey dealership had the highest Saab sales volume of any Saab dealer in America in 1997, retailing 716 new Saab 900s and 9000s. Owned and operated by Albert Kosempel, J.M.K. Saab was previously No. 1 in sales in 1996 with 504 cars sold. "Saabs have a unique personality and a lot of soul, and our sales staff ensures that the car-buying experience is similarly untraditional. We put the customer at ease with a positive attitude and touch of fun," explained Jeremy Laufer, sales manager at J.M.K. Saab. "Our strong sales are a direct reflection of our customers' high level of satisfaction." Other 1997 Saab sales leaders included Saab of Westport, 176 Post Road, Westport, Connecticut, with 554 Saabs sold, followed by Mike Shaw Saab, 1080 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver, Colorado, with 432 cars delivered. Rounding out the top five 1997 Saab sales leader list were Ramsey Saab, 585 Route 17, Ramsey, New Jersey, with 416 sales, and Village Saab, 30 Main Street, Acton, Massachusetts, with 415 new Saabs sold. In the United States, 213 dealers sell and service Saab 900 and 9000 automobiles, along with the complete range of Saab parts and accessories. In addition, there are 25 authorized Saab service centers.
