Saab finished June 2005 with 6,593 total retail sales, of which 1,999 for 9-2X alone. This is clearly the best month ever in Saab's entire 49-year history in the US. The Saab 9-3 sedan saw an increase of 25%, while the all-new 9-7X SUV had a promising start while still being restricted during the production ramp-up.
Saab USA general manager Jay Spenchian: "Main factors that contributed to our success in June were the "Employee Pricing For Everyone" program and a combination of increased public awareness and more attractive pricing for the 9-2X. Also, the 9-3 showed a clear increase, which is an encouraging signal for the upcoming extension of the model line with the Aero V6 Turbo and the 5-door SportCombi this fall." Saab USA is well under way to reach the 40,000 overall sales target for the year (38,159 in 2004).
9-7X SUV retail sales were 316 vehicles for its first month - keep in mind that this is still a restricted number as we are gearing up production.
