Rather than put something on your car, is it possible to put something on the wall ?
I had a similar problem with the car door catching the side of my house due to a narrow drive, rather than ruin the look of the car I have fastened an unobtrusive strip of foam rubber to the house wall in the area the door edge would strike so that I now have no worries about damaging the edge of my car door.
