Hi Mike,
Thanks for all your input and honest feelings on this. I'm at the conclusion that I received a fair deal... a little stupid that I acted so quickly, but when I re-act it out, I'da done it anyway.
As you said in a previous post, if this car was say $24K, I wouldn't have even looked at it. That would have been out of my price range. $19,700 was too actually but it was close enough that I squeezed it out.
I do absolutely love the car and that's probably what should count the most. It is flawless, and it's loaded with everything possible, and it has what I consider very low mileage. I also figure that most 9-3's if not all experienced the transmission shift problem that was satisfied with software updates. So in reality the car is likely as good as any other 9-3 Vector. The only exception is in a resale condition where I have a bad piece of paper.
Since you are so very knowledgable especially on this kind of thing, do you have any recommendations for me? How/what should I ask the dealer to supply in ways of documentation regarding the transmission software repair? If I ever went to trade this car in, am I going to take a beating because of this - if so, how much (if I were to drive onto your lot with it tomorrow say)? Will this "blemished" "branded" "Buyback" title give me issues elsewhere such as insurance value (if I total it), loan value (if I want to finance it ever), and finally when purchasing an extended warranty? Can I even get an extended warranty with this type of title? And if so, can I buy it from you Mike?
