My opinion of Morries in Minnetonka is relatively low. I have a 99 9-3 and test drove a 2005 9-3 when shopping for my wifes car. Salesman indicated during the test drive that I should be familiar with the engine, as it is the same one that I have in my current Saab. Doh! You mean except that it is a totally different block, with Trionic8 instead of T5, no DIC and light pressure turbo (I drove the Linear). I totally turned off after he said this to me. When will people learn that they should keep their yap shut if they don't know any better.
Anyway, service has been OK, though there has been little of it. I needed a DIC quick at 126K and they quoted me one price on the phone (Black DI), but when I got there, explained I need the Red DI (which was correct, I could have used black, but it probably was not my best choice based on the feedback I have seen here). Of course the red was more expensive, but it was not a massive amount and I would have paid anyway because I needed it. It was a little over $400. So typical dealer steep, but not a total rip job.
To their credit, I did have a good and relatively thorough test drive of a 9-2X soon after it came out, though I found it surprising that the sales guy came out right away and admitted it was subaru based. A little weird, but somewhat understandable since they are also a Subaru dealer. He did say that they were using the X in the name to indicate what was and wasn't a real Swedish Saab. I am sure the brand manager would have spanked him for that, as I am relatively sure the X means All Wheel drive (as in 9-7X).
Anyway, I work close to Schmelz now, so I will likely go there for my next major service issue to try it out. Best of luck.
