My '03 Arc 6 speed sucked. I've never owned an auto car, I'm British. Same problems as everyone else reported. Mine got replaced with a 5 speed '05 Arc almost a year ago. To Saabs credit it hasn't seen the dealer for anything or needed any fluids except gas and washer fluid. It's quick and the brakes don't fade .. and you can change gears just fine!
It kindof worried me about Saabs future if they didn't fix the sunchro problem for the '06 models. I thought ther was supposed to be a redesign. They are competing with the Japanese and BMW/Audi. Anyone that buys a manual shift in this country (USA) is a performance person and expects it to work perfectly. No balking and crunching.
Drove my classic '93 900T Conv this weekend .. it crunches a bit too when it's cold .. who cares. What a great car the old 900's were!
Of course the pinion bearing wasn't good on that car but it was still a sucess.
