I may be due for a new car sometime next year. I am intrigued by the 9-3 SC. I would likely go for a 2.0T, 5sp, Cold and Sun Roof. My fear with this is that my wife really hates to "crank" down the seat on my 99 9-3. When she wants to lay down on a long trip it takes her 5 minutes and a bunch of cranking to lay back. For fine adjustments, the crank wheel is great, for the entire travel of the seat, it is painful. Anyway, there is no way I will get another one of these crank wheel manual seats past my wife. I was somewhat encouraged by the photos showing front seats on combis volding all of the way down (thinking they must have a different tilt mechanism to accompany this), but I heard that this will not be coming to the US. Doh!!!

I know that someone is saying, well get her the power passenger seat and let her push the button. Unfortunately, the power passenger seat is part of the premium package, which is ~$2K. I know it comes with a lot of nice stuff, but that's a lot of money to not have to crank your seat and would probably put the cost out of my budget (which is on the brink as it is). If I could just switch seats with my wife that would be perfect (since power driver seat is standard, I would just as soon have manual control, one less thing to break).

Anyway if anyone knows anything definitive about this, that would be great. Thanks.

Also, I am contemplating selling the car to my wife as a European Vacation via European Delivery. That seems like a great program. Only question is: How do you finance a car with no registration in the states? How do they (or buyers) get around this?

Best wishes.
