Window pinch reset works a little different on a convertible. On Saab convertibles except OG900 cars, the windows work in conjuction with the soft top control module. The NG900 has the window relays built into the TSAS module. On the OG9-3 the relays are next to the STC module and are part of a sub-bus.
The 9-3SS uses seperate door control modules. These are what the window switches are directly attached to.
On a 9-3 SS convertible the windows are reset using the top. First clear the calibration. You can do this with a Tech II. You can also roll the glass halfway down and hold it with your hand to prevent going up. Now, activate the up switch while keeping the glass from moving. The glass will stop trying to go up after a few seconds. Do this on both fromt windows.
You may also be able to reset by pulling fuse F5 for 30 seconds (works on hardtops) or you could disconnect the battery.
Now that you have cancelled the calibration, you need to reset it. On a convertible, this is done with the top button only. Hardtops use the window switches. Cycle the top down and then up. Continue to hold the top button up. After 5 seconds or so the windows should begin to cycle up and down. Continue to hold the button untill you hear the second beep (The first beep let you know the top was up). If the windows don't cycle let off the top button for at least 2 seconds then push it up and hold it. The owner manual can be very helpful about this.
Also as others have stated, you can always override the anti-pinch by holding down the lockout button while you put the window up.
Another common problem I see is loss of the auto-up feature. First on the convertible ONLY THE FRONT 2 WINDOWS have this feature. The rears DO NOT HAVE AUTO-UP. Second the fronts will not auto-up unless the rears are ALL THE WAY up. Sometimes people accidently hit the rear button and cause the rear glass just to come off the stop. The rear will look like it is up, but it is not and the front on that side will not auto-up.
Good luck,
Steve C
