I added two 6 X 9 (pioneer 6971, $99), and a MTX RT202 amp. The job was sort of straight forward. The car has two amps, the one in the front console handles high and mid frequencies. While the one underneath the drivers seat handles low and mid frequencies. So to power the 6 X 9's on the back deck, I tapped into the amp under the drivers seat (more bass). The main draw back to this is you lose the functionality of your fader. I checked around for a while and the only way I found to buy the fiber optic amp was from saab for $540 (w/ speakers). My cost was $206. In the trunk of your car you will find a connector that is meant for that additional amp. I used that to power my new amp, and I used the connectors for the speakers (I cut 3 inches off the wires from the trunk and used the terminals to make work under the front seat easier and look more profesional. The really important part to this job was using the low pass filter on the new amp to drive the woofers on the 6 X 9's only. Then I cut the wire that went to the tweeter and mid range and used additional wire to connect them to the little crappy speakers that reside on the back shelf. If you don't do this you will get some crackling from the tweeter and mid range. Has anyone found 6 1/2's for the front doors that actually fit?
