The MP3 hook-up works fine, but IMHO, whole setup has a seriously unresolved Saab engineering issue.

To work like most other car makers' iPod setups, Saab needs to tweak the software so that your iPod's scrolling, playlists volume buttons work via the steering wheel controls.

Apple has list of cars and/or makers set up for iPod compatiblity. For the first time, they indicate that GM vehicle compatability is "coming soon." Will that mean a long overdue software upgrade? We'll have to wait and see.

Given that Saab SIDs display radio stations, songs, and artists, the logical software upgrade is to make this same type of info. available for iPod owners who either already have, or upgrade to, the auxilliary MP3 input port in their Saabs.
