Sorry to hear it, but it's been well documented that the '03's had a lot of issues, that were corrected. I've always been one to never buy the first year of a complete redesign as it is always prone to this type of thing. You see it over and over across the auto industry....
I have had an '06 9-3 Aero convertible for 9 months now and it's the best Saab I've ever owned. No issues at all, tight, well built, fast, fun and distinctive.
You might want to give the '06 another try??
