I was under the impression GM did a triple-stupid thing on the 2006 9-3's. Disabled Bluetooth in favor of OnStar, installed the OnStar shark fin antennas on all cars, but created a bastardized system where OnStar wasn't offered because it wouldn't work!
I have a 9-3SC with the premium audio, have no interest in OnStar (probably would never install bluetooth either), but even I was shocked to be told that OnStar was not available/functional even though the antenna was glued to the roof.
