Engine stops when coasting

Here is my problem. I have a 2004 9-3 Linear with manual transmission. My driving habit is when I see red light far away, I would shift into neutral and coast until I stop at the red light, or re-shift into gear if the lights turn green before I get there.
When the engine is cold, I drive out of the garage or parking lot. I accelerate and shift to 3rd or 4th gear when the speed is about 30 or 40 mph. I suddenly release the gas paddle about the same time I kick the clutch and shift to neutral. (Note before the gas paddle is released, I was pressing it to accelerate) The RPM drops as normal until its idle speed. It sometimes bounces a bit around idle or just keeps dropping until the engine stops completely. Not long after that, I loose the power steering. It is really dangerous and concerns me.
It only happens when the engine is cold. I cannot recreate it all the time, so it makes difficult for the dealer to diagnose. They have performed the engine check many times and even did the throttle body service and the problem still happens. I recently noticed it usually happens when the gas tank is half full. The car has 54K on it but the problem happens way before this mileage.
Is there anyone else having this problem or can anyone help?
Thanks!!
