I have an '06 9-3 ARC CV w/ 14,000 miles, Premium sound. This has been an ongoing problem for me. My speed dependent vol control has only worked once as I approached a red light and boy was I surprised. It has never worked again though even though the service writer insists it does work, she heard it work last time they fixed it and with the top down.

The traffic program TP also does not work, actually it worked one time at a dead stop in a horrendous traffic jam while listening to a CD. A smile came across my face as after six months waiting for a traffic report during my daily commute I had concluded that there were no radio stations broadcasting TP reports in the fourth largest city in the US.

After my visit last week for other service related issues including a poorly functioning Oil Management System they said I had a bad Service Information Management devise of some type, SIM, in the SID and had ordered a replacement. This will fix all the problems with the countdown date to the next oil change and the radio problems I am told.

I am a little worried about them replacing a component of the computer system as it took three - four visits and ongoing complaints for them to identify what they now think is the problem. my feeling is this could open a whole new can of worms if they screw up installation or programming of the new devise.
