Check the service record to see what was done - the teething issues with the first year models have been widely discussed on this board in prior years. In summary, the issues I had with my 2003, which were all fixed under warranty, included: (1) transmission/radiator coupling leak that required a new tranny and radiator; (2) faded door handles - all replaced; (3) brake vacuum issue (recall); (4) gas cap (replaced prior to recall); (5) driver's side power window guides (broken and replaced); (6) several software upgrades to provide smoother auto tranny shifts; (7) new battery; (8) peeling dash board (peeled parts replaced); (9) the analog On-Star unit in the early models will cease functioning as of 12/31/07; and (10) the original Pirellis don't have a long tread life - I replaced them all before the car hit 20K - I used Michelins as replacements and they've been great. Now that all of these issues have been resolved, the car has been fine and trouble free.
